Six of unidentified armed thugs have on Wednesday attacked and robbed cheap hardware shop in Nansana Municipality Wakiso district leaving two dead and others injured.
In a statement released by Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, the robbers were moving on three unidentified motorcycles.
“Three of these robbers were armed with AK 47 rifles,” the statement reads.
Police confirmed that two workers who were working in the hardware shop were shot dead instantly.
The deceased were identified as Atuhura Jimmy the assistant manager and Aruho Frank and two others were injured and rushed to Mulago hospital for treatment.
Police states that the thugs who were wearing masks, came at the time when cashiers were about to take money to the bank
The statement further reads; “The robbers stole unspecified amount of money.”
Onyango added that police investigators are on the ground as they continue to pursue the robbers.
