Police have recovered bodies of two students of St. Bernard Nkozi Demonstration School after eight days of disappearance and the remains of the body parts were found torn in pieces.
They were recovered from Kalagala-Gayaza village in Mpigi District on Monday 18th March 2019.
The gruesome murder left the natives of the area in shock and asked authorities to take serious action to end such atrocities in the country at large.
Police said parts of their bodies were found scattered in Namagongolo forest at Kalagala-Gayaza village on Monday 18th.
The students were identified as Nalweyiso and Muyingo who went missing from their grandparent’s home a week ago.
District Criminal Intelligence officer Mpigi district, Mr Andrew Ainembabazi, stated that the bodies were found by locals in the area after spending sleepless nights searching after they were reported missing for some days.
After Police visiting the scene, they found only some parts of the body while other parts missing.
“The boy’s body parts were in pieces and We also found two empty jerrycans at the scene, so that was the situation at the scene,” Mr Ainembabazi explained.
However, he promised the locals that more investigations are still on going and all the assailants will be brought to courts of law and justice will prevail.
“This is an unfortunate incident that has befallen in this village, but we shall do whatever it takes to find out the motive behind this kind of gruesome murder,” he added
The parts of the deceased were taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital in the capital Kampala for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, police have arrested six people including the deceased’s grandparents and a traditional healer from Sembabule District in central Uganda to aid in their investigations.
Mr Richard Jjombwe, the village chairman condemned the gruesome murder and blamed the guardians and parents who neglect their children.
“This is really very bad and the perpetrators should be brought to book, we condemn this in our society, these were innocent people,” chairman said
