Besigye Presides Over Gulu Games

Former Forum for Democratic Change party leader Dr Kizza Besigye has on Saturday handed over trophies to a football team in Gulu district

Besigye and several leaders attended a football match at Pece war memorial stadium Gulu.

Aswa sub county football team was playing Gulu municipality Fc.

The football march was part of the activities organized by Leader of Opposition in parliament, Betty Aol Achan.

The team that won was Aswa subcounty and Dr Besigye handover the trophies to the captains of the winners and runners up.

Hon Betty Aol explained that the main reason for the match was to strengthen the friendly relationship, togetherness, discipline, fitness and good health.

She further urged the participants to continue engaging in such activities because it is one of the ways to curb crime in the community.

She pledges to support such kind of activities as long as there is proper organization.

Dr Kizza Besigye expressed his happiness and gratitude towards the initiative and said that was the kind of move required to promote metal fitness and good health.

“Talents and skills of the players were well exhibited, this is really a good move which will help to promote friendship, togetherness,” he said.

He urged youths to stay focused and refrain from all kind of gullible politics.

Among the people who attended the ceremony were, opposition chief whip Hon Ssemujju Nganda ,Buhweju MP Francis Mwijukye, Erute North  MP Charles Gutumoni among others
