Muslim Cleric Ismail Kalule Whisked Away By Unknown Gunmen

Sheikh Dr Ismail Kalule was whisked away by unknown gunmen from his clinic along Rashid Hamish road on Sunday 20th in Kampala.

Sheikh Ismail Kalule was among people who were battling charges of terrorism of 2010 Kampala bombing however, he was acquitted of all charges by high court judge Moses Mukiibi.

According to the family members, they are still green about the whereabouts of Kalule

They said they don’t know why Sheikh Dr. Kalule was arrested yet he was cleared of all charges

Sheikh Kalule’s wife said the Husband has been receiving threatening messages and mysterious calls for several meetings of which he declined.

Kalule’s mother Fatuma Kabega stated; “I haven’t had any sleep since the arrest of my son, I keep thinking about his whereabouts and why he was apprehended.”

Sheikh Dr Kalule’s lawyer Denis Ocheng says he is still ascertaining which security organ is detaining Sheikh Dr Ismail Kalule.

“If 24 hours elapses before he is released or produced, we will be proceeding to court against the State to ensure that his rights are protected and taken to court,” he added

Meanwhile police spokesperson Fred Enanga denied any knowledge of Kalule’s whereabouts

“I have made several calls to the components of counterterrorism CID and crime intelligence at this stage, we don’t have any clue indicating that Sheikh Dr Ismail Kalule is with us the police,” he explained

The family members urged Inspector General of police, President Museveni and all the Muslim clerics to intervene in the matter.
