Nambooze Roots For Sacking Of Minister Kutesa

Member of parliament for Mukono municipality, Hon Betty Nambooze wants President Museveni to sack minister of foreign affairs Sam Kutesa over corruption.

Betty Nambooze said this while attending church service on Sunday at Mukono Kyaggwe.

She wants Sam Kutesa to resign from his position as minister of foreign affairs.

Sam Kutesa allegedly received $500,000 about shs1.8billion bribe in exchange for obtaining business advantages for a Chinese energy company while he served as president UN General Assembly from 2014_2015.

Last week, a former Hong Kong Minister Patrick Ho Chi Ping was found guilty by federal jury in New York of offering millions of dollars in bribes to African officials including Uganda’s Foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa.

This comes after president Yoweri Museveni was awarded by Transparency International for his anti-corruption activities.

Nambooze says Kutesa’s involvement in corruption by receiving bribes has ashamed Uganda internationally so he should be sacked.

“Uganda has been appearing on international newspapers,” she said.

She said that Since president Museveni addressed the country about corruption, he should sack Sam Kutesa because he is a disgrace to the country.

“Sam Kutesa should apologize to the country for what he did,” Betty said.

She also said that corruption and bribery is commonly carried out by top ministers and top government officials.
