The Cabinet has presented a surprise cake to President Yoweri Museveni to mark his 74 years of strength and good health.

This took place today during the Cabinet break at State House, Entebbe.

The President’s birthday cake was a Cabinet dedication to Mr. Museveni’s leadership of the implementation of the 23 Presidential directives that the President gave to Cabinet to achieve service delivery and upholding the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) four fundamental principles of Nationalism, Pan-Africanism, Social-Economic Transformation and Democracy.

President Museveni, on his part, described the surprise cake as marking double celebrations, saying the day marked the 46th anniversary of the day when the liberation forces attacked Mbarara before they were repulsed.

“Thank you for the surprise cake to celebrate my 74th birthday. It is really a double celebration as this day also marks the day we attacked Mbarara before we were repulsed by Moses Ali group,” he said.

State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Nakiwala Florence Kiyingi along with State Minister for Privatization and Investment, Hon. Evelyn Anite who were the architects of the surprise birthday cake, noted that the gift to the President was a symbol of good health to the rest of Ugandans.

“The President is becoming more and more active. His life must be celebrated,” said Hon. Nakiwala Kiyingi.

This is the first time cabinet is celebrating president museveni’s birthday.
