Bobi Wine Remanded To Makindye Military Barracks

Kyadondo East MP, Hon Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has been charged with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition and remanded to Makindye Military Barracks until August 23, 2018.

This was revealed in a letter signed by UPDF spokesperson Brig Richard Kalemire.

The country may recall the ugly events of Monday 13th August 2018 1 Arua Municipality as the campaigns ended, a crowd in an illegal procession pelted stones at die convoy of H.E the President breaking the rear glass window of one of the cars and later one person was shot dead in this whole fracas.

“As part of the investigations into these acts of violence, the Police arrested key organizers and participants inducing Hon Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi the Member of Parliament for Kyadondo East Constituency.

“During the search of his hotel room by investigators, he was found possessing arms and ammunition which are ordinarily a monopoly of the Defence Forces.

“Consequently, Hon Kyagulanyi has today been arraigned before the General Court Martial in Gulu and charged under S 119 (1) (h) of the UPDF Act, 2005 on accounts of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. He has subsequently been remanded till 23° August 2018.”

On allegations of torture, Hon Allan Ssewanyana revealed that Bobi Wine’s face was swollen and deformed.

“Hon Kyagulanyi has been remanded until 23rd August. He has been airlifted to Makindye military barracks. He has been tortured and deformed with swollen face, he cannot stand on his own ……no one is safe,” Allan posted on Facebook.
