Police Breaks Silence on Killed High Court Judge Driver

Police has finally broken silence on the incident that saw the driver of a high court judge gunned down.

Ismael Mayiga, Justice Musa Sekaana’s driver was killed after the judicial official’s guard identified as Pc Daisy Nagasha opened fire on Monday morning the Judge’s home in Bukasa, Muyenga.

“Today 31 July 2018, at around 7:00am, there was an unfortunate incident at Bukasa, Muyenga, Makindye Division, Kampala District, where our officer discharged a bullet and it hit the driver of Justice Musa Sekaana at his residence,” Reads a statement signed by Police Spokesperson, Emilian Kayima.

“Our officer Nagasha Daisy while at her duty station at the home of the Judge, discharged a bullet that killed Mr. Ismail Mayiga.

“Mr. Mayiga died on the way to hospital where he was being rushed for medical attention.

“It’s a regrettable incident; currently all indications show that it was not intended but an accident.

“Still, this matter is being investigated to its logical conclusion.

“The body of the deceased has been taken to City Mortuary for post-mortem and the family has been notified accordingly.

“The Police Officer has recorded a statement at Kabalagala Police station to facilitate the ongoing investigations.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the and friends.”
