We have reliably been informed that the residence of Sexual minorities ambassador Emily Bamugaya Nagawa, that is located in the Makindye a surburb of Kampala was a few days ago raided by local security authorities.
According to a source that preferred anonymity, the house was raided by concerned authorities after having been left unattended to for a long period of time.
The source further informed us that ever since Emily disappeared from the area over alleged connection to the Rainbow movement, the house has constantly been monitored but could not be tampered with as its rent had been duly remitted to the landlord.
It should be noted that Emily was one of the vocal people who opposed the Speaker of parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga after she blasted the President of the Inter Parliamentary union Gabriella Barroza for allegedly smuggling in a homosexuality motion on the order paper without the consent of both Asian and African representatives at the 138th Inter Parliamentary Union summit held Geneva is still causing ripples among its champions.
The tough talking Kadaga then at the summit said that efforts by European countries to legalize the practice of homosexuality will lead Uganda and other countries opposed to the vice withdraw from the Inter- Parliamentary Union
The motion on homosexuality exposed the sharp divisions between members from Africa and Asia on one side and their European counterparts.
Other people who sympathize with the minorities group and are affiliated to the Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) include; Tamale Pius, Ali kakembo and one Emily Nagawa.
Emily 24 , is one of the new firebrands of the rights move moment and at one time lived in Makindye, Kampala and later in central Juba Southern Sudan where she was last reportedly seen.
The group insists that with such a stand in Uganda, minority groups like theirs lives in fear.
The raid on the residence is said to have unleashed literature about the Rainbow movement and affiliated apparatus.
