Makindye General Court Martial has again denied bail to Boda boda 2010 boss Abdallah Kitata.
General Court Martial boss Lt Gen Andrew Gutti said that they cannot operate well when prosecution hasn’t disclosed all witness’ statements and any other material they intend to use in this trial to the defence lawyers.
He said this delay is denying Kitata and group their freedom.
State Prosecutor Capt. Ambrose Baguma also said that Kitata can’t be released on bail because he can interfere with investigations and threaten witnesses since he knows them.
He further revealed that the presented sureties are not substantial.
Kitata and 12 others face charges of unlawful possession of an SMG gun, 3 pistols and 50 rounds of live ammunition.
These were discovered by the army after raiding Vine Hotel in Wakaliga where Kitata and group were hiding on 20th January 2018.
Kitata and 12 others will again appear in court on May 07, 2018 to hear their bail Application.
