1 Mins read

Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander CP Frank Mwesigwa has been transferred to the Tourism Police department.

In a mini Police shake up that was executed by the new IGP Okoth Ochola, Mwesigwa has been replaced by CP Moses Kafeero.

In his tenure as Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander, Mwesigwa focused on fighting crime and stopping opposition leaders from holding rallies in Kampala without authorization.

Before his transfer, CP Frank Mwesigwa yesterday was sensitizing Matugga people on how to curb crime.

He told the locals to coordinate with police through easy information sharing, increase vigilance in identifying and monitoring criminals.

Mwesigwa said police has already started a system to clean and fire police officers who deal with criminals.

He reassured the residents that he would look into the behaviour of some individual officers whose policing capabilities were questionable.

He assured the residents of police plans to secure toll free lines for every division to help ease the flow of information between the residents and police
