State Minister for Lands and Bukono County Member Of Parliament Hon. Persis Namuganza today broke down and wept after she was grilled by MPs on the Rules Committee.

Namuganza was appearing before the Committee of Rules to give a statement on alleged conflict between her and the Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, the Speaker of Parliament.

“Since those incidences happened, our colleagues, I don’t want to cry in this committee. I can’t take a cup of water from our own family because she got people and gave them money; my own brothers and sisters,” said Namuganza as she wept and cleaned tears that has started to roll down uncontrollably.

Namuganza further blamed Kadaga for fuelling the conflict because she openly told the Bukono people that she had opened war on her.

“Hon. Kadaga came to my constituency and used strong words against me and my people. She even publicly stated that she has opened war on me,” said Namuganza before adding that; “Rt. Hon. Kadaga made a visit to Bukono County but addressed it as Busiki and went ahead and said no one will ever stop her from coming to Busiki. This left my people disturbed.”

“Rt. Hon. Kadaga’s actions have sparked violence, insecurity and created divisions among my people. This is so painful.”

Namuganza further told the committee that Kadaga should concentrate on fighting poverty and leave the issues of royals to royals.

“Why doesn’t the Speaker wage war on poverty instead of fighting me? She has failed to use her time and energy to revamp the Youth Livelihood program in Kamuli.

“Kadaga should leave the matters of the royals to the royals. She is not one. Royalty is born not made.”

This website understands that Namuganza advised the committee to summon Kadaga to explain exactly what is happening.
