Middle East Consultants Limited (MECL), Uganda’s leading labour exporting agency on Thursday flagged off 62 young Ugandans to go and work in Abu Dhabi (UAE) for various job opportunities.
It was joy as family members and relatives kept cheering on the candidates during the briefing time conducted by Middle East Consultants’ Managing Director Gordon Mugyenyi on Wednesday afternoon at their head offices in Muyenga.
The 62 candidates who departed from Entebbe International Airport with Ethiopian Airlines at 3:00pm on Wednesday were mainly males and 4 ladies who went for various jobs that included working in oil and Gas Company, Taxi Driving, Cleaners among others.
Before their departure on Thursday Mugyenyi also had a brief induction with the group and their parents in which he advised the candidates to exhibit highest degree of discipline if they were to succeed where they are going to work noting that it is key.
“Behave well and protect the name of our country, Uganda,” Mugyenyi said, adding that they should save the money they will be earning rather than spending it extravagantly.
They were also advised to always remember the people they have left behind, especially their wives, parents and children.
According to Gordon Mugyenyi, each of the 62 will earn between Shs2M to 3M per month depending on the kind of job one has gone for and taxi driving job has the highest pay in addition to guaranteed extra pay on overtime work.
They will also get free accommodation, meals, medical insurance and free return ticket on completion of a two year contract.
Gordon Mugyenyi, MECL Chief Executive Officer noted that the 62 are part of the order secured by the company to supply 400 for the some jobs in Abu Dhabi.
He revealed that interviews and registration is still ongoing for the remaining 309.
He called upon parents to send in their unemployed children for jobs, noting that MECL is professional and fully licensed by government.
