NWSC Boss Reappointed Vice President of African Water Association

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation Managing Director Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha has been reappointed as the Vice President on the Executive Board of the African Water Association during the 19th Congress of the African Water Association and Annual General Meeting at Laico Amitie Hotel, Bamako, Mali.

At the same event, the corporation’s Director of Business and Scientific Services Dr Rose Kaggwa was confirmed as the 2nd President of the Association Scientific and Technical council.

The African Water Association brings together water and sanitation sector players on the African continent with an aim of facilitating capacity development of utilities, research and projects focused on solutions for water and sanitation management and influencing sector policy by providing sound professional viewpoints on emerging issues on the African continent.

Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha shared that NWSC is a member of the African Water Association (AFWA) at continental level and a member of the International water Association (IWA) on the International stage.

“The affiliations are creating opportunities to learn global best practises, share best practises from Uganda and benchmark on modern service delivery models for better service delivery in Uganda,” Dr. Silver shared.

Last year, Dr. Silver was elected the first African Vice president of International Water Association.
