Boda Boda 2010 Offices Torched, Culprits Arrested

Following the Arrest of Boda Boda 2010 boss, Abdalla Kitata, jubilation has been going on among the rival Boda Boda have been celebrating his arrest.

As the celebrations went on, today morning, some Boda boda riders attacked and torched offices Boda Boda 2010 in the areas of Wakaliga, Makindye, Kikajjo, Ndejje and Bukesa.

Several items including furniture, motorcycles, stationery and many others were burnt to ashes.

As the chaos intensified, Police swung into action to cool down the situation by firing Teargas and rounds of ammunition.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander CP. Mwesigwa Frank confirmed that 10 suspects were arrested and 19 motorcycles impounded.

The suspects belonging to Century Boda boda Riders Association have been identified as;

Katongole Saulo, Kiggundu Hamza, Wamala Patrick, Busulwa Joshua, Muyomba Farouk, Katerega Roger, Mubiru Godfrey, Ssebuwufu John Bosco, Yiga John Bosco and Ssemakula Alex.

The 10 have been charged with criminal trespass, theft and malicious under SD Ref. 34/22/01/2018 of Natete Police Station.

While speaking before the media today, Police Spokesman Emilian Kayima warned the public against taking the law into their own hands as security agencies are working hand-in-hand to screen, see who is culpable, so that justice can prevail.

“We are asking all Ugandans to respect rule of law, to allow the law to work, as we are doing. It is in our interest to find justice. We ask anyone who has issues to present them for all of us to do a good job in as far as curtailing crime is concerned”, Kayima said.
