Jailed Nixon Moves To Block Court Martial Trial

1 Mins read

SSP Nixon Agasiirwe who was arrested by CMI late last year on charges of kidnap has petitioned High court-civil division to block his trial in General Court Martial

Through his lawyers of Joel Olwenyi and company advocates, Agasiirwe opines that since he is not in military, he is not supposed to be charged in the military court.

He also feels that the army court has not been fair to him and justice won’t be duly served.

Agasiirwe has been in detention for over three months on charges of kidnaping and forcefully repatriating three Rwandan Refugees in 2015.

It’s also worth noting that Agasiirwe has been denied bail two times by the court martial.
