Sweden and Uganda Forge Closer Economic Ties

In a bid to enhance bilateral relations and explore avenues for mutual cooperation,  Maria Hakansson, Ambassador of Sweden to the Republic of Uganda, held a significant meeting with Hon. John Mulimba, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Affairs, at the Ministry Headquarters.

The meeting, held on February 27, 2024, focused on reinforcing the bonds between Uganda and Sweden across various sectors, with particular emphasis on political, social, and economic cooperation.

Ambassador Hakansson underscored the importance of maintaining regular dialogues to nurture closer ties between the two nations. 

She also disclosed that Sweden has recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U) with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, signaling a collaborative effort in the mineral sector.

Both parties expressed their commitment to deepening the existing relationship between Sweden and Uganda, highlighting the potential for further collaboration and mutual benefit.

This meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening economic ties between Sweden and Uganda, paving the way for future cooperation and development initiatives.
