France Commits $3 Billion to Uganda’s Development

Uganda and the Republic of France have taken a significant step towards enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation, as France pledges a substantial investment of $3 billion in Uganda over the next three years. 

This landmark announcement was made during a constructive meeting between the Honorable General Abubakher Odongo Jeje , Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda, and  Xavier Sticker, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uganda.

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala, focused on strengthening ties across various sectors of mutual interest and fostering sustainable growth and prosperity in Uganda.

 France’s investment will be strategically allocated, with a particular emphasis on key areas such as agriculture and oil and gas.

The Government of Uganda expressed its sincere gratitude to France for this generous commitment, highlighting the deep-rooted friendship and partnership between the two nations. 

This substantial contribution is expected to play a vital role in Uganda’s efforts to achieve its development goals and improve the well-being of its citizens.

 Odongo , extended his appreciation to  Sticker and the Government of France for their unwavering support and partnership.

 He emphasised the importance of successful implementation of the envisioned projects, which will bring mutual benefits to both nations.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the constructive dialogue and collaboration, further solidifying the strong and enduring partnership between Uganda and France.

This investment announcement marks a significant milestone in the bilateral relationship between Uganda and France, opening up opportunities for economic growth, job creation, and technological advancement in Uganda. 

As the implementation of these projects progresses, the government and people of Uganda eagerly anticipate the positive impact that this partnership will have on their nation’s development.
