STAY WOKE!! Fake Websites Impersonating International Finance Corporation In Uganda

International Finance Corporation in Uganda (IFC) has warned that there are several fake websites, emails, loan application forms, and URLs impersonating IFC in Uganda.

This comes at a time when IFC has been subjected to cybercrime attacks from unknown individuals and entities.

“The online scam seeks to lure entrepreneurs and small businesses in Uganda into revealing personal financial information and applying for ‘IFC loans’ by completing application forms found on fake websites,” reads the statement by IFC.

The statement further reads that; “The public should be mindful of copycat links the scammers may decide to use. IFC would never request for your bank statements or other personal financial information online.

“IFC is not involved with these websites or the call for applications. We strongly caution the public to be wary of these and other individuals or groups that falsely claim to be associated with IFC or other members of the World Bank Group.

“IFC has a standard and elaborate loan application process for potential clients seeking IFC loans.”
