According to the sources, on 15th June, 2021 the chairperson workers union, Mr Oloro Denis wrote to Corporation secretary of CAA who is also the caretaker of the office of Director Human Resource and administration after the position fell vacant early last year.

Now, the official communication on industrial action has also been made by the chairperson workers union the whole country.

The staff blame CAA Board of Directors and top management of failure to pay their allowances that include; Leave allowances, Risk allowances and acting allowances.

They also blame management for failure to substantively confirm those who are acting in vacant positions but those in higher positions have been confirmed and all their allowances are paid in full.

For example during this covid period, Mr Emmanuel Barungi who was acting as General Manager Entebbe International Airport was confirmed.

Others are; Lt Col Allan Matsiko Murari who was confirmed as Manager Aviation Security, Mr Kalenge Bashir confirmed as Manager Administration.
Leaving others acting with no acting allowance.

It waits to be seen how CAA will respond to their demands to avert the industrial action.
