Disciplinary Action Over Kadaga Conduct Will Happen If Formal Complaint Is Lodged – NRM SG

Former Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga will face disciplinary action from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party if a formal complaint is filed, the Secretary General has revealed.

Kasule Lumumba made the remarks on Thursday, days after Kadaga lost her her bid to retain the Speaker of Parliament post she has held for ten years. She lost to Jacob Oulanyah in the Monday election that also marked the first sitting of the 11th Parliament.

“Rebecca Kadaga is to either face caution, suspension or expulsion from the NRM party depending on whether there will be a formal compliant made to the party disciplinary committee over her conduct,” Lumumba said.

There has been talk that Kadaga could face disciplinary action over the way she behaved a day to the election of the speaker.

The party’s top decision making body, the Central Executive Committee (CEC) sat and a endorsed Oulanyah as NRM’s flag bearer in the poll, prompting Kadaga to storm out of the meeting and announce, at a press conference the same day, that she would be going against the party decision, something many considered an act of indiscipline.
