FDC Begs EC For Money To Carryout COVID Tests For Election Witnesses

Forum For Democratic Change has asked the Electoral Commission to provide the funds needed to test all the electoral witnesses ahead of 2021 general elections.

In a letter signed by FDC Secretary General, Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi to the Electoral commission chairman, FDC opines that they don’t have the resources to carry out the tests for all their electoral witnesses across that country.

“We have received information that you want all persons going to witness elections processes at the tally centre to have under gone COVID test with a certificate showing Negative,” read the letter from FDC Secretary General.

The letter further reads that; “This however requires resources which are not available.

“This letter therefore, is to request you to provide us with resources to carry out the above test.

“Otherwise, our teams shall wear face masks as per the SOPs guidelines Thank you.”
