The Forum for Democratic Change Presidential candidate, Patrick Oboi Amuriat has promised to build a cement factory and also improve the security in the Karamoja region.

Amuriat made the remarks in a sub region where the National Resistance Movement enjoys wide support on the pretext that the regime has short changed the population for the last 34 years.

Although ruling government has made some tangible developments in the region such as construction of roads, extension of electricity, some residents want ventures that impact on personal land among others.

Amuriat promised the locals that instead of importing raw materials from outside the region, he will set up cement factory as soon as he gets into leadership come 2021.

Karamoja is known for its richness in coal, marvel and limestone.

The presidential hopeful also pledged to improve health services in the region hence appealing for a block vote from the Karamojong exploiting the shared ethnic bloodline with the Itesot.
