We Shall Impound All Cars Moving Past 9PM — Police

1 Mins read

Uganda Police Force has revealed that they will reactivate all the curfew check points to arrest people and impound all cars still on the road past 9PM.

“Tonight, we are re-instating all curfew check points. Vehicles will be stopped at 2100hrs. We are witnessing people starting to violate the curfew hours. Today, plan your journey early,” read a tweet from Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango.

It should be noted that Ugandans have for a long-time ignored curfew orders of being off the road by 9PM.

Curfew was among the Presidential directives on controlling COVID-19 and theft in this pandemic where economic conditions have worsened.

As of now Uganda has 9,864 registered cases, 6,109 recoveries and 94 deaths.
