Sources say that the governor has been in hospital for the last few days. Not much is known about his condition but we are told it’s critical.
Last evening, Dr. Adam Mugume, one of Ugandans finest economists, was appointed Acting Deputy Governor Bank of Uganda.
Mugume replaced Dr. Louis Kasekende whose tenure at the central Bank expired earlier this year.An insider reveals Mugume will not only perform the deputy governor’s roles but governor Mutebile’s as well.
“He (Mutebile) is not expected in office anytime soon. His health is failing. There’s great worry,” a close source intimated to us.
