The NRM secretary general Justine Kasule Lumumba has ordered for the immediate closure of NRM party offices as one of measures to contain and prevent the spread of coronavirus.
“I have ordered the immediate closure of all National Resistance Movement(NRM) Party Offices as the country continues to lay strategies of avoiding the widespread of the deadly COVID19,” she said.
Lumumba instructed the party director Finance and Administration Dr. Hassan Wasswa Galiwango to effect the directive without any delays.
“The offices include the Party Headquarters along Kyadondo Road in Kampala City, the Electoral Commission Annex and all District stations. All staff are advised to stay home until further notice,” she added.
She further called upon the party leadership at all levels to suspend any meetings or Party activities in their respective areas and stay home.
“The campaign to fight the deadly CoronaVirus begins with each of us an individual and therefore I remind every citizen to abide by the guidelines given by the Ministry Of Health,” she noted.
She said all offices will remain closed until advised to the contrary.
