DFCU Bank Kampala Branch relocates

1 Mins read

DFCU Bank Kampala Branch previously located at Crane Chambers is now moving to Plot 40 Kampala Road. A number of labourers were noticed outside the building moving the bank’s furniture onto trucks to be moved to the new location.

This was following a notice that was put up at the entrance to the customers informing them that the bank will be closed on Friday 31st January and Saturday 1st February as the movement takes place.

The Crane Chambers was one of the properties sold by Bank of Uganda after the closure of Crane Bank. In the sale of the properties, the Central Bank handed over the securities of 48 buildings to DFCU without a well streamlined audit of these properties to establish their value. In 2019, DFCU wrote a letter to Bank Of Uganda (the regulator) expressing its interest to return land titles and securities of 48 properties which housed former Crane Bank based on grounds of fraud.
