Clients Bash Equity Bank Over Poor Customer Care After Ill Patient Was Forced to go to The Bank

2 Mins read

Early this week, social media was awash with photos of an ill patient who was on life support in the banking hall of Equity Bank, Wandegeya Branch, and this made many people angry.

Here are some comments from other clients even after Equity Bank apologised for the unfortunate incident;

The client on life support was brought to the bank to withdraw money to foot hospital bills. The patient was forced to go to Equity Bank after bank officials failed to help/support the family in his absentia.

Yass Haruna Ortega – What happened was indeed shocking and unacceptable, At least one of the staffs of the bank should have gone to check the patient in the hospital after the daughter pleading invain for Assistance.

Innocent Mwine – Very poor customer care. I couldn’t believe that your customer care department and operations couldn’t verify his specifics and have him served at the hospital. I trusted you but am totally disappointed.

Waneloba Raj Rogers – Equity Bank, this is so low, with the intense of the situation that surrounded the circumstances, you owe your customers, me inclusive an explanation why the patient, who is also your client was treated in that manner, it not just coming here and telling us you are sorry and in touch with the family, why in the first place was the client denied access to his funds, if the client was denied medical attention By the hospital and he loses his life would the bank account for their actions, would you compensate that life? If there was lack of seriousness By the branch officers, what has been done? Don’t just tell us what, tell us the why, how.
We deserve better than this lame notice.

Eninu William – In such a delicate case, couldn’t you send one of your banking agents to verify this and provide a much needed service to the sick client in the hospital.
Seeing that sick man in the bank only shows your lack of courtesy. Your customer support administrator doesn’t think beyond the bank premises. Hopefully you don’t recieve a dead client’s body in the banking hall next time because of such poor decisions.

Alex Nioniringiye – With due respect, try to go an extra mile to serve your clients because you are what you are because of them.
Equity bank must have responded quickly on call and confirm to the request by sending a bank agent with a clients file to the hospital, Transporting a sick person from hospital to transact is madness and equity bank acted without care,
Guys, we are people and we posses the ability to act beyond rules and regulations that have not been provided for in any undertaking by use of sympathy and wisdom (Save a life first)
No excuse is acceptable from anyone who acts without empathy for humanity.
