MP Nambooze Roots For Non-Violent Methods In Regime Change

Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament, Betty Nambooze Bakireke has on Tuesday urged all Opposition Leaders to preach non-violence actions and be able to demonstrate them.

While appearing on NBS TV on Tuesday, 05 March 2019, Nambooze criticized hooligans who attacked Rtd Col Dr. Kizza Besigye last week when he was hosted on a radio show

“I would have been worried if any leader came out to praise those people who attacked Besiege, “she said.

She stated that they had three days to sleep over the matter and kindly request the FDC members to withdraw that position of investigation

“We should move on, if we respect each other as opposition and the possibility that we shall merge in to one group is high, that’s what the people of Uganda want.” Nambooze explained.

She further said that the homework they have as opposition is to preach non-violence methods and demonstrate it because if opposition continues attacking each other, president Museveni will be vindicated and opposition shall become the culprit.

Nambooze also stated that most people running at the frontline of People Power are the same people who supported Amama Mbabazi strongly and what they got as an additional is Hon Abed Bwanika and Bobi wine

“Amama had gone silent and his supporters were looking for a home and they now naturally found home in People Power,” explained Nambooze.

She added that People Power was supposed to be a unifying voice as the opposition but slowly people are succeeding in making it an entity competing with others as though is it a Political Party.

“If you feel that Besigye has been around for too long, go and campaign on that line, if he has become irrelevant don’t demand support from him for the new candidate, “she explained
