Police Exhumes Body Of Missing Woman Who Was Killed By Lover

Key suspect in the murder of a one Sumayyah Okitoi who was identified as David Afaayo on Sunday 30th led police detectives to the place where he is believed to have buried the body after the incident.

In November the family of Sumayyah Okitoi opened up a case of missing person and police investigations pointed out that a one David Afaayo was having knowledge of her whereabouts after period of intensive interrogation.

Afaayo has reportedly confessed to having had a hand in the murder of his girlfriend after a bitter fight.

Sumayyah was killed in his boyfriend’s room and according to police investigations the neighbour knew about her death but kept quiet.

On Sunday, police detectives have seen where he buried her body in Lugala Rubaga division, Kampala.

Muzammil Okitoi, the brother to the late states that; “The last time I saw Sumayyah, it was September. She came home and she was telling us she had gotten a boyfriend and she wanted to bring him home and then we were like; it’s okay bring him home.”

Killed and buried Sumayyah

According to the locals, Sumayyah and Afaayo have been having misunderstanding which sometimes led into fights and they suspect this could have been the cause of her death.

One of the locals narrated that; “I was sleeping when I heard heavy footsteps right outside my house. I thought they were thieves. I was inside I peeped through the curtains and saw a man carrying a body covered in a sheet and the legs were exposed.”

Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire has confirmed the incident and a post-mortem will be carried on the Sumayyah’s body at Mulago hospital as police investigations continue.
