You can’t mention Uganda’s music industry without the name Chameleone popping up.
It is said he is fully responsible for chasing away Congolese music from Uganda after it had dominated the Ugandan industry.
Artistes like Tshala Mwana, Alusi Mabele, Madilu System and Pepe Kale were reaping from Uganda frequently, having endless concerts.
After a short spell with Bebe Cool in Kenya, Chameleone decided to return home and do what most artistes had failed to do.
Take back the industry where it belongs.
He was successful such that people started embracing their own and that is when other artistes started taking music as a career.
Bebe Cool returned, and artistes like Kid Fox, Viboyo and Perfect Generation started making a name for themselves.
Chameleone’s act was simply awesome as he steadily became a force to reckon with in Uganda’s entertainment industry.
Many wanted to be like him thanks to songs like Mama Mia, Dorotia and Jamila to mention a few.
His blend of Swahili, English and Luganda made him loved not only in Uganda but in East Africa and beyond.
Ugandan Chameleone has come out to announce that he is the Legend artist when it comes to singing in Uganda and East Africa.
Chameleone said this during his successful show that last evening on Friday at the enormous Cricket Oval in Lugogo.
The last local artiste to attract a huge crowd at Cricket Oval was singer Levixone recently at his Legend Hit afterTurn The Reply concert, the fans made sure they came with those tickets and didn’t waste them.
Chameleone also did his part and did what he does best.
Chameleone stepped on the darkened stage a few minutes past 8:45pm; emerging from a smoke screen amid loud chants and ululations from the crowd that had been eagerly waiting for his performance.
Dressed in the iconic Iron Man suit, the singer opened his act with a performance of his single Atasiga Nsigo.
Backed by Solid Band, he went on to take revelers on his music journey as he switched between his hits from the early 2000’s and his most recent hit songs including songs like “Kuma Obwesigwa”, “Bomboclat”, “Kuba Bulungi”, “Nekolera Mali”, “Basiima Ogenze”,Basi Za Nyanja, Champion, Nekolera Mali, Motor Motor and “Agatako” among others.
His act was preceded by performances from fellow artistes like Pallaso, Papa Cidy, Melody among others.
If you have attended shows where he has performed, it is official that you will accept that he is an energetic performer and a crowd mover.
