Coffee Tourism Uganda in collaboration with ministry of agriculture are set to organize first Coffee Tourism expo that will take place three days from 14 to 16 December,2018.
It will be held under the theme “Unlocking Uganda’s coffee industry potential ”
This will bring together key stakeholders in the coffee and tourism industry to discuss issues concerning cash crops and the strategies of making it a success.
Coffee takes around 24% of Uganda’s total export earnings a third foreign exchange earnings according to the sector regulators (UCDA) on the other hand tourism contributes only 10% to Uganda GDP.
African coffee industry will provide an opportunity to promote Coffee to international buyers.
The organizers said that coffee farmers to consumes under a farm to cup approach with consumers touring farms and sharing experiences with farmers.
Chairman Uganda coffee Ishaka Luwenga said that they are working with UCDA and UTB to select the farms that will show case Uganda farmers coffee industry.
Delegates have started jetting in the country. This will be the third time Uganda is hosting the African fine coffee conference.
