We can authoritatively reveal that former theatre outfit top cameraman Denis Lukwago, who went missing early this January over his relationship with a gay tourist, has been smocked-out living an introvert lifestyle in the United States.
Denis , who before disappearing then was one of the most sought after camera and graphics honchos in the business around Kampala, was known to have been living with a partner and children in Zana off Entebbe road.
Though there was a rumour doing rounds at his affiliated work stations like Christal events and the Ebonies studios, which Denis was at the same time spending many hours and nights away with his tourist lover many still did not buy the story.
However, his long well-kept secret sex life was discovered when one of his associates discovered candid and romantic emails between him and his tourist lover.
The revelation that the lanky fellow was bi-sexual shocked many people who had been relating with him.
Embedded in shame and fear of being brought to book by both his lover and authorities, Denis then went underground and had not been heard from despite numerous searches conducted by his family, workmates and authorities, until we smocked him-out recently.
It should be noted that in Uganda the Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2014 (previously called the “Kill the Gays bill” in the western mainstream media due to death penalty clauses proposed in the original version) was passed by the Parliament of Uganda, on 20 December 2013 with life in prison substituted for the death penalty.
The bill was signed into law by the President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni on 24 February 2014. On 1 August 2014, however, the Constitutional Court of Uganda ruled the Act invalid on procedural grounds.
Denis , born on 10th -01-1978, before his exile , was very vocal and associated with several human rights activities but most especially concentrated on sexual minorities thus putting credence to the fact that he had always been part of them.
