In these series of success stories,\nwe visited Hadijah Nalubega\u2019s home in Matuga, Wakiso District. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hadijah Nalubega, 32, never imagined\nshe would one day become a landlady given the fact that her job in Uganda\nwasn\u2019t satisfying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, after securing a job as a salesperson Qatar in 2014, Nalubega is closer to becoming a landlady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is setting up rentals in Matuga\nalong Bombo road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nalubega, a graduate of Information\nTechnology from Makerere University says she sought a job a broad because the\njob she had wasn\u2019t the best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI had bigger plans, but the job I had\nwasn\u2019t well paying. I tendered in my application to work abroad as a sales lady\nin Americana Food Company,\u201d Nalubega said before adding that after a few days\nshe was called for interviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was then called to pick up my Visa\nand got my air ticket to Qatar,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Asked about how life is in Qatar,\nNalubega said: \u201cLife is good because we live basing on Qatar laws; each person\nhas equal rights, so there is no human trafficking.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nalubega\u2019s mother and sister \u2013 Maimunah Nabukenya have shared the fruits of her work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On returning from Qatar after 2 years for her vacation, Nalubega\nrevealed to Maimunah that \u201cshe wanted to invest her money\u201d, and Maimunah was\npositive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI told her it is okay, we can plan and I will help you run the\nprojects,\u201d Maimunah says in the interview. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Shortly they began constructing rental houses, and Nalubega went\nback to \u201cmake more money to complete the project.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The building has three rentals; two of them have a sitting room\nand they are self-contained, while the other is \u201cjust a double self-contained\nhouse.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nalubega\u2019s mum urges parents to always make use of their\nchildren\u2019s money because \u201cmost children go abroad, and come back only to find\ntheir money wasted by relatives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She also expressed her gratitude to the recruiting agency for\ngiving her daughter an opportunity of making a living for herself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dickson Mugonjo Rising from Waiter to Head\nSecurity at Dubai Company<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2015, Dickson Mugonjo who hails from Rwenkyakala cell,\nKandago parish, Bukinda sub-county in Rukiga district was among Ugandans to work\nin Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the time, he couldn\u2019t imagine what the future of working\noverseas held for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mugonjo, 26, was taken\nto work as a waiter in a Dubai catering franchise, but due to hard work and\ncommitment he has consequently been promoted to the company\u2019s head of security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company is called Alrahmaniah Food Meals and Catering LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It goes out without saying, with the added titles to Mugonjo\ncame lots of benefits, and eventually lots of savings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With some savings at hand, the enthusiastic Mugonjo decided to\ninvest the money in his relatives and family, who have also not disappointed\nhim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mugonjo has been able to set up a beautiful permanent house for\nhis family, which has seen them move from a crumbling structure in which\nMugonjo was born in 26 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mugonjo\u2019s mum said they were grateful to the genuine recruitment\nagency for having taken their son, and trained him so well that he was now changing\nthe lives of his siblings and other relatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The mum revealed that she was particularly \u201chappy to see the\nfruits of his sweat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Additionally, she said Mugonjo was also paying school fees for\nother children in the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Genuine Recruitment\nAgency Financially Rescues Jinja Family<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nwhole village of Buwenge in Jinja district has been transformed economically in\nrecent years after one of their daughters went to Dubai for a job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hasifah\nBasirika, a pancakes maker in Buwenge, Jinja says that they were very poor and\nwhen she heard of abroad jobs, she thought this was an opportunity for her\ndaughter Halima Nantongo to go for \u2018kyeyo\u2019 in Dubai. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI had never been to Kampala but I traveled to\nsecure a slot for my child\u201d Basirika says before adding that; \u201cThey took\nNantongo to Dubai and she has been there for three years now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She\nadds that they were very poor, but their financial status has since greatly\nimproved since their daughter sends them money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\nalso now have my cows; I am able to take milk,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nantongo\u2019s\nfather, Siraje Kafeero revealed that Nantongo financed and helped her sister,\nSharifah Nakafeero to go work in Qatar as a cleaner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShe\nhas also been paying school fees for her siblings,\u201d Kafeero says, adding: \u201cShe\nhas also bought land worth Shs8m in Buwenge where she plans to set up a school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3 Children In UAE\nHave Greatly Transformed Our Living-The Katendes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Hajji\nHassan Katende and his wife Nassali Janat Katende are quite an admirable couple\nand family, thanks to the transformation they have undergone in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While\nthey were not badly off financially, the opportunity to take their three\nchildren to United Arab Emirates (UAE) for jobs has greatly improved their\nfinancial standing and prestige.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In\nhis own words, a jovial Katende says, \u201cMy own children who are working in UAE\nare three, but when people saw me progressing, they started giving me children\nto take them to genuine recruitment agencies to help them secure work abroad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n They\nare located in Kaberebere Town Council, Isingiro district but they are quite\nfar in terms of welfare compared to many Kampala dwellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He\nadds that his first son Hadadi Katende, who was the first to go, has already\nbuilt a plush residential house besides other business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He\nexplains that his son has been sending home money and once it accumulates, he\n(dad) invests it in beans and maize produce, thus the son\u2019s money has been\nincreasing over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhen\nit accumulated, I advised him to buy land and later I told him to build a house\nand he obliged,\u201d he says, adding that his son has also bought him a car, an\nupgrade from a motorcycle he has been used to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n His\nwife Nassali, the mother to the three children working abroad, adds that\nHadadi, 27, went for a cleaning job in UAE. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\nhave had open communication with our children. We tell them what their money\nhas done. His dad bought for him land\nand started building for him this house in his first contract. For the second\ncontract, he is still saving,\u201d she says, adding that her 2nd<\/sup> child\nto go Fatuma Sserungaya has also bought land for farming projects. The land was\nbought two years ago at Shs17m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShe\nplans to build a house and do farming. The banana plantation is also hers,\u201d she\nsays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n She\nexplains that the 3rd<\/sup>, Nasim Sserungaya, recently sent them money to\nrenovate their house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\npainted the house inside and outside.
