President\nYoweri Museveni has, in his State of the Nation Address to Parliament at the\nKampala Serena Conference Centre on Thursday 6 June 2019 blasted opposition MPs\nwho don\u2019t help their people because they are not NRM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nwarned Opposition politicians against what he called misleading the population,\nberating those he says imagine they cannot be useful except when in government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf\nyou claim that you are a leader and you do not care about your people, you are\nnothing I can tell you; do not tell me that you cannot help your people because\nyou are not NRM\u2026.I can tell you on good authority,\u201d said Museveni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With\nthe coming of the two Bombardier CRJ 900 planes meant to start the hitherto\ndefunct national carrier, Museveni exuded confidence on the economy\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On\nissues of security, Museveni said the army has helped weed out criminals, and\nthat the country will as a result remain secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSome\nmonths ago, killers, robbers and rapists had been all over the place; the\nPolice had been infiltrated by criminals and people who have been compromised\nin some way,\u201d said Museveni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These\nare claims he made last year after sacking the Inspector General Police, Gen.\nEdward Kale Kayihura and Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde, the Minister for Security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\ncrime wave will be defeated; UPDF works with the security forces to curtail the\naction of the criminals,\u201d said Museveni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A\nfew days after his address on the State of the Nation, Arua Municipality MP\nIbrahim Abiriga was brutally murdered, in a manner that was quickly becoming\nfashionable since the death of several Muslim clerics and security officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cameras\nwould later be installed to cover a wide pan of the metropolitan area, which\nwas a key promise the Head of State made to Parliament at the height of the\nmurder incidents then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
