For almost 170 years, World Expos have united people in a spirit of inspiration and excitement for the future, and have amazed them with innovation, culture, art, food and fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAir travel has transformed the ability of\npeople to experience everything that the world has to offer. Expo 2020, and\nEmirates as our Official Airline Partner, will be bringing all of that together\nin one place, Dubai, in 2020. And the Emirates Pavilion will tell the\nincredible story of the role that air travel will continue to play in\ntransforming mobility and shaping our futures.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking place from 20 October 2020 to 10\nApril 2021, Expo 2020 Dubai is a must-attend event for visitors with an array\nof unique experiences at 190 country pavilions, and a packed entertainment\nprogramme with daily live events, parades, music and cultural festivals,\ninspiring talks and workshops and more. Food lovers and gourmands looking for\ninnovative dining concepts will be able to sample cuisines from every corner of\nthe globe, with over 200 dining experiences from casual food truck concepts to\nfine dining, and 34 \u2018never seen\u2019 before food concepts in Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Emirates Pavilion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Guided by the three themes of Expo 2020\nDubai: mobility, opportunity and sustainability, the Emirates Pavilion was\ndesigned to reflect the dynamic lines of aircraft wings ready to take flight.\nThe 26 slanted architectural fins that cover the entirety of the pavilion will\nhold over 800 metres of LED lights to create multi-sensory effects and movement\nacross the structure, showcased by lightshows during every night of Expo. The\nlatest fabrication technologies, building techniques and sustainable design\nelements will be used such as integrated solar arrays, sustainable off-site\nconstruction, responsive solar shading and a verdant landscape on both the\ninside and outside of the Emirates Pavilion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The 3,300sqm three-storey multi-function\nstructure will be located in close proximity to the UAE Pavilion and within\nwalking distance of the Al Wasl Pavilion, the epicentre of the Expo 2020 Dubai\nsite. The Emirates Pavilion will have the capacity to welcome more than\n56,000 visitors per month during Expo 2020 Dubai. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Visitor Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Emirates Pavilion will offer a glimpse\ninto the changing world of commercial aviation and will help drive the\ndiscussion around the power of mobility and its advancements both in the air\nand on the ground, which ultimately enables the physical connectivity for people\nand products to move across the globe in a modern, efficient and\nenvironmentally sustainable way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The interior of the Emirates Pavilion\nincludes an enclosed floor plan which allows natural daylight to enter the\nspace, reducing energy consumption. Experiential content will take centre\nstage, encouraging interaction throughout the visit. The second floor of the\nEmirates Pavilion will house an auditorium for speaker sessions and industry\nevents, and the third storey houses a dedicated skygarden for visitors to enjoy\nthe natural surroundings and green, open spaces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Emirates Pavilion will help tell the\nstory of what commercial aviation might look like in the future \u2013 through\ntopics that include the science of flight, advancements in engine technologies,\nnew aerospace materials that increase performance and reduce fuel consumption,\ninnovative fuselage interiors focused on elevating passenger comfort and\nwell-being, and the future of the passenger experience at airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Using the basic principles of aerodynamics\nand the four forces of flight (lift, drag, weight, thrust), visitors will be\nable to understand the\nscience behind flight<\/strong>, and learn about the basic principles of\naviation. With aerospace design constantly trying to find ways to push flight\nto the limits, visitors will also explore how fast different technological\ndevelopments will hit the runways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Will the future of engines be electric?\nThis is one of the questions that will be addressed as visitors learn about the\nadvances being made in engine\npropulsion and thrust<\/strong> for next generation aircraft as well\nas cutting-edge propulsion systems that increase thrust and while burning less\nto reduce emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The future lab<\/strong> will explore\ninnovative metallic and composite materials that are being developed, improved\nand adopted to offer better flying performance. Whether it\u2019s lighter weight\nwith greater strength and less corrosion to ultimately improve fuel economy,\nthese materials could become the building blocks for the aircraft of tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The fuselage of tomorrow <\/strong>will help visitors dive into the phenomenal\ntransformation happening in the world of cabin interiors. Whether its\nadvancements in technology, materials or spacial design, the future of aircraft\ncabin design will take comfort and passenger well-being to another level, and\nredefine how we experience flying. Visitors will be able to explore dynamic\nseating layouts and ergonomics, immersive onboard experiences and intelligent\ninterfaces, windowless fuselages, as well as the technology behind \u2018smarter\nseats\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before passengers even board, future technologies at airports<\/strong> are\ntransforming our travel experience on the ground. Emirates Pavilion visitors\nwill be able to explore a biometric end-to-end passenger processing system,\nwhich not only uses iris recognition, but also examines the emergence of\nwearable technologies, as well as multiple biometrics and human recognition\nsystems such as brain scanning and voice biometrics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, visitors will be challenged\nto create\nand configure their ideal aircraft of the future<\/strong>, combining\nselected technologies and personal preferences for choices of wing, fuselage,\nengine, and other elements to help them define their own experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It is estimated that 70% of visitors to the\nExpo 2020 Dubai will travel to the event from other countries over the 6-month\nevent, and Emirates\u2019 network of 158 destinations in 86 countries will help\nfacilitate that mobility and support the Expo in attracting 25 million visits\nthrough its marketing channels.
