The Appointment of Prof Charles Kwesiga as chairman Board of Governors at Ntare School has been praised by alumni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prof. Charles was recently sworn in as the new Chairman of Board of Governors of Ntare School. Kwesiga is a prominent OB who also doubles as the Executive Director of Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ntare school has produced prominent\npeople in society including two seating presidents, that is HE Yoweri Kaguta\nMuseveni of Uganda and HE Paul Kagame of Rwanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An Industrial Engineer by profession,\nCharles Kwesiga has significant experience as a corporate manager, management\nconsultant, educator, and entrepreneur. For example, by 1986 <\/strong>he was Director of\nInternal Performance <\/strong>for a 3000-strong Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio,\nafter a short stint as Manager of Industrial Engineering in the same company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As Executive Director of UIRI he has\noverseen the Institute\u2019s activities that include: technology transfer;\ntechnology diffusion; process and product development; business incubation;\ncontract engineering services and applied R&D. Kwesiga is credited with\ntransforming UIRI from a backwater department at Ministry of Trade and Industry\nto a Centre of Excellence in R&D for EAC (East African Community).\nCurrently the metamorphosed Institute operates at the auspices of Ministry of\nScience, Technology, and Innovations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Highly regarded by his peers and\nother professionals, Professor Kwesiga\u2019s other extra-curricular activities,\nprestigious assignments, and calls to duty include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022He was elected President of WAITRO<\/strong> (World Association of Industrial and\nTechnological Research Organisations) for a two-year term, Jan 2015\/Dec 2016,\nafter rising through the ranks as Regional Representative for Africa, 2nd<\/sup>\nVice President, 1st<\/sup> Vice President then full President. First\nAfrican to hold that position since WAITRO\u2019s founding in 1970.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022Special Presidential Assistant\n(advisor) for Productivity and Competitiveness, on retainer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022Member of Board of Control of Senior\nCommand and Staff College Kimaka (KSCSC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022Dr Kwesiga once served as one of the\nfive-member advisory team for United Nations Economic Council for Africa\n(UNECA) on Africa Technology Transfer Networks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022He is also the Vice Chairman of Board\nof Directors of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC). <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022Kwesiga pioneered the establishment\nof UPIK (Uganda Petroleum Institute at Kigumba). <\/p>\n\n\n\n Prof Kwesiga, a Patron of several\nassociations, is married to Justina and is a father of four \u2013 one of whom is a\nfull Professor, Eileen N. Kwesiga, in Rhode Island, USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With such a background, it is only\nlogical to expect that our OB will help our (already) great almer mater to\nascend even higher heights.
