Following\nthe sad incident that befell Ssebulime’s family, the family Lawyers of Muwada and\nCompany Advocates have on Tuesday 2nd April 2019 penned a letter to Inspector\nGeneral of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola showing concern about the police\u2019s\nrefusal and failure to arrest the state Minister for IT Hon Idah Nantaba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Uganda\nPolice summoned Hon Idah Nantaba on\nMarch, 25th, to record a statement about the death of Ssebulime who was gunned\ndown by police as he was suspected to be trailing the Minister on March 24th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However,\non 29th March, Nantaba wrote a letter to the Criminal Investigations Department\nstating that she was not in position to get to the police station because president\nMuseveni had ordered her to remain at her home until further instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On\nthe same note Uganda Police came out and told the public that they could not\ncarry on with probe into the matter due to the statement that was written by\nHon Idah Nantaba however, promised to take further steps to handle the matter\nwith more assistance and clarification from the President\u2019s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\nthe statement, the Muwada and company advocates states that Hon Nantaba\nrequires no clearance in law to appear at the police station. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They\nstated that the president can only pardon after conviction but cannot obstruct\nthe course of criminal justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They\nalso called upon the general public to apprehend Hon Idah Nantaba and hand her\nto the nearest police station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They\nfurther added that the law of this country do allow permit the general public or any private person to\nexecute the arrest of such people to face the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNotify\nyou as IGP that unless you usurp your statutory powers and act as required by\nthe law, we shall without prejudice prosecute you Martin Okoth Ochola as the\ncommanding officer, the four police officers and Hon Idah Nantaba\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They\nadded that Ssebulime’s family need Justice because police came out and admitted\nthat their officer killed an innocent person and that they were provided with\nfalse information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They\nsaid it’s the right time for the law to take its course and Hon Nantaba should\ngo to police and make a statement so that investigations into the matter can kick\noff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
