Residents\nof Nagojje village in Mukono district have revealed that Ronald Sebulime, the\nman who was shot and killed on Sunday was unarmed, had surrendered and was\nhandcuffed when he was shot dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sebulime\nwas killed after he was suspected of trailing the state Minister of Information,\nTechnology and Communication Aida Nantaba on a sport bike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According\nto witnesses interviewed by NTV, Sebulime and killed while on handcuffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDue\nto the high speed, I understood that these people are being chased,\u201d said John\nKagiri one of the interviewed witnesses who resides in Nagalama Mission land before\nadding that Minister Nantaba came and asked him if he had seen a speeding motorbike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\nreplied her that it had just passed and the minister was alone without the body\nguard.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAfter\nsometime, her bodyguard arrived and blamed her for chasing the unknown men\nalone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At\nNagojje trading centre, one of the witnesses said that the over speeding motorbike\nhit the bump and they fell down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe\nmotorbike hit the bump and they fell down, its sound was so loud and we came\nout thinking it was a car accident but we found two people on the ground with\ntheir motorbike,\u201d narrated the witness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other\nwitnesses said that the two took different directions and police managed to\ncapture one and was handcuffed and put on the Police patrol vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Witnesses\nfurther said that upon questioning Sebulime on the whereabouts of the gun of\nwhich he responded that he had no gun and that police officers put him out of\nthe Police car and shot him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe was killed while handcuffed. After arresting him, they brought him and put him on a patrol car and they drove a bit. They opened the patrol car, and the police officer took two steps behind and shot the man,\u201d narrated another eyewitness at Nagojje trading centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\na media briefing, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said Ssebulime\u2019s accomplice\nwho got away was armed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enanga\nalso wondered why innocent people would runaway from police that was chasing\nthem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhy\nwere they escaping? Police is pursuing you, you have identification on you, why\nshould you run?\u201d asked Enanga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On\nthe issue of a police officer shooting Sebulime, Enanga said that they will\ninvestigate that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\nis something that we shall need to verify and if at all it happened that way,\nthere will be officers responsible,\u201d Enanga explained before adding that; \u201cThe\nfact that somebody is on handcuffs doesn\u2019t mean that he his not dangerous.
