An intelligence led operation conducted on shops suspected of buying and\nselling spare parts of suspected stolen motorcycles at white Nile Zone, Katwe 1\nParish, Makindye Division, Kampala district last Saturday led to the arrest of\neight suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The operation that was headed by DPC Katwe SP Rwamusayi Frantile\nwas conducted in the shops of Mugerwa, Nsubuga Fred aka Kanyama and\nKalangwa aka Jjuko whom Crime intelligence had gathered information that the\nshops mentioned are fueling robberies of motorcycles around and outside Kampala\nareas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Intelligence showed that they buy motorcycles from perpetrators,\ndismantle them into spare parts and sell them after fixing different number\nplates to their customers, mostly from upcountry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the operation, search was made on the cordoned shops and \nsorted spare parts of dismantled suspected stolen motorcycles were recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also Motorcycle number plates were recovered from these shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The number plates include; UEO 971A, UDQ 713T, UEK 746X and Logbook no.UEK 492X. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spare parts of about 15 motorcycles were recovered in Nsubuga\u2019s shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While number plates; UET 405V, UES 612Y, UES 549U, UDS 660A and spare\nparts were recovered in Kalangwa\u2019s shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mugerwa\u2019s shop had spare parts of Bajaj Boxers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eight (8) Suspects have been arrested of which 2 are key Buyers and two\nriders of stolen Motorcycles .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspects include Nsubuga, Mike Ssegirinya Mike and Rogers Mbega.\nOthers are; Simple Julius and Ssempira Farouk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The owners of these shops are still at large and we are looking for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b0Kayirimuko owns shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b0Mugerwa owns shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b0Jjuko owns shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b0Kasozi owns shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b0Kanywani owns shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b0Musa and Richard these are mechanics who change engine numbers and make\nlogbooks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the DPC, the operation will continue so as to weed out the wrong elements in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
