Museveni says the big market that Uganda enjoys in Kenya and Ethiopia, the temporary border issues with its neighbour like Rwanda will not have much impact in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\npresident was responding to questions from some of the members of parliament on\nwhat government was doing to some neighbouring countries that have blocked\nUgandan goods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere\nare some countries that have refused our trucks to go their countries to take\nboth import and exports, what shall we expect from the result of such? \u201cone of\nthe MPs asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut\nthe market is big; there is Ethiopian and Kenya, so that should not stop us, if\nthere is problem here and there, so this temporary thing should not stop us, we\ncan get opportunity somewhere else,\u201d Museveni said<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For\nthe last two weeks, goods from Uganda have been blocked from entering Rwanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\npresident further informed NRM members of parliament that he will not sign into\nlaw the sugar bill that was passed in December in 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According\nto the president, the bill that seeks to regulate sugar industries and provide\nthe operating zone for mills is not favourable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile\npresident Museveni has applauded parliament for passing a motion allowing\ngovernment issue promissory notes worth Shs1.3 trillion shillings to an Italian\ninvestor, Finance Local Construction Company Limited to construct a specialized\nhospital at Lubowa <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
