{"id":8293,"date":"2019-02-20T13:11:25","date_gmt":"2019-02-20T10:11:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=8293"},"modified":"2019-02-20T13:17:28","modified_gmt":"2019-02-20T10:17:28","slug":"former-flying-squad-boss-rearrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2019\/02\/20\/former-flying-squad-boss-rearrested\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Flying Squad Boss Rearrested"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The\nformer flying squad boss Herbert Muhangi has been re-arrested and driven to\nunknown detention from court premises immediately after he was granted bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nGeneral court martial chaired by Lt General Andrew Gutti had released on the\nbail ACP Herbert Muhangi, the former police Flying Squad boss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muhangi\nrequested for bail for over Seven months after he was suffering from stomach\nulcers as he needed extra medical attention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lt\nGen. Andrew Gutti, the General Court Martial chairman accepted to release\nMuhangi on Tuesday on a non-cash bail of Shs10million because Gutti was satisfied\nwith all the sureties presented by Muhangi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gutti\nalso stated that Muhangi has been a long-serving high-ranking officer who has\nnever been convicted of any criminal offence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muhangi\nwas also ordered not to leave Kampala without permission from the court and\nreport twice every month to army Court&#8217;s registry as part of bail condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately,\nhe was picked by soldiers of Uganda People\u2019s Defence Forces outside Court\nMartial premises in Makindye and dragged into military double cabin before\nbeing driven to unidentified destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muhangi\nis among seven officers who served under former Inspector General of Police Kale\nKayihura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Muhangi\nwas apprehended in June 2018 and is facing charges of failure to protect war\nmaterials, kidnap and repatriation of Rwandan Refugees that included Innocent Kaliisa,\nJackson Karemera and Joel Mutabaazi between 2010 and 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its\nalleged that the jailed officers illegally issued guns to former Boda-boda 2010\nboss Abdallah Kitatta<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The former flying squad boss Herbert Muhangi has been re-arrested and driven to unknown detention from court premises immediately after he was granted bail.
