Security\nofficers have on Monday 18th arrested Makindye West Member of Parliament Allan\nSsewanyana over organizing a protest against the alarming poor hygiene at Kiruddu\nhospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According\nto the residents, for many months they have been complaining about the sewage\nand stench from the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nlegislator was forcefully dragged in a police car and driven to Nagamala police\nstation on allegations of spearheading unlawful protest against deteriorating\nHealth status of the government owned hospital, Kiruddu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During\nhis arrest, he stated that there is no reason why he can’t speak to his people\nwho have complaints to be addressed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
His\nsupporters tried to stop police from apprehending him all in vain <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police accused Hon Allan Sswanyana for\nforcefully attempting to lock down the Mulago Satellite Kiruddu Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hon\nAllan Ssewanyana arrived at the hospital armed with a chain to close the\nhospital but unfortunately, he was blocked by security officers and immediately\napprehended and currently under police detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kampala\nMetropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the arrest of the\nlegislator and said they could not allow staging of unlawful protest and\ninterference with hospital activities that receives hundreds of patients who\nneed urgent treatment and medical attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\nknow very well that facility accommodates hundreds of patients, the Hon\nSsewanyana forcefully attempted to lock the hospital, meaning he was putting\nlives of patients at stake.
