Police\nin Lyantonde are holding a man in connection with child kidnap in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nsuspect has been identified has Yusuf Kizito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kizito\nwas arrested by Police in close coordination with CMI at the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\nemerged that Kizito kidnapped, John Kato, 4, a son to David Sempweju from his\nparents on January 16, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nincident happened in Kaliro Ward \u2018A\u2019 in Lyantonde Town Council. The kidnappers\nasked for a ransom of Shs7m. Half of the money was paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After\nhis arrest however, he led operatives to Nkoowe, Wakiso district where Kato was\nbeing hidden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kizito\nwas found in possession of some money investigators believe is part of what he\nasked for in ransom. In fact, he led operatives to where the child was hidden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Similarly,\nAida Nabakooza, 5, who was kidnapped on January 24, 2019 from her parents at\nSazza Central Zone in Masaka Municipality, has been recovered. Her captors had\nasked for a ransom of Shs300m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According\nto Greater Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson, Lameck Kigozi, since November\nlast year all the five children kidnapped for ransom have been recovered alive\nwith more than twenty suspects arrested which he said is a great achievement.\nSome, he said, have been taken to court while others released on bond.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
