The President said they can\u2019t bring jobs that come with\nindustrialization if they don\u2019t have the basic infrastructure such as roads,\nrailway, electricity, education etc in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf machines take over jobs of humans, no problem as long\nas we are part of it. If we talk of business, we must be able to produce and\nconsume. The danger is if we are buying and not producing. We must seriously\ndeal with the issue of economic and political integration for credible\nbargaining units in addition to education. Others will wake up or collapse with\nthis,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The President was responding to concerns by the OXFAM\nExecutive director that efforts made my EAC heads of government in building the\nEAC bloc seem to be crumbling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The President said with peace and stability in the\nregion, countries will be able to build a strong middle class that pushes for\nintegration for goods and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Byanyima agreed with the President that some technologies\nassociated with the forth industrial Revolutions such as artificial\nintelligence associated with improved productivity and incomes may be a\nchallenge in countries with no infrastructure such as roads, electricity,\nrailway etc to bring the cost of doing business down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The two leaders also discussed the situation in South\nSudan, Burundi and the DR Congo and sustainable ways of ensuring peace and\ndevelopment for the most vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Winnie Byanyima is a recognized expert on women’s rights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n She is a former director Gender and Development programmes, United Nations Development Programme and the African Union Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She was also a member of Parliament for ten years in Uganda and is founder, Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE), which champions women’s equal participation in decision-making in Uganda. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" President Yoweri Museveni has said building strong internal middle class systems pushes for great dynamism for goods and services that build strong integration blocks and ultimately improve economic development and transformation.
