The\nCDF of UPDF, General David Muhoozi has on Friday 18th welcomed back 248 UPDF\ntroops who were part of the second Uganda military training and mentoring team\nin Equatorial Guinea and 2400 troops of Uganda’s 23rd Battle group to Somalia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nfunction was held at the UPDF peace and support operation and training centre\nin Nakaseke district<\/p>\n\n\n\n
General\nMuhoozi applauded the troop for raising Uganda flag in the foreign mission\nafter serving for a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nstated that the reasons for UPDF involvement in Foreign mission stems from Pan\nAfrica spirit and the old adage that no man is an island. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We\nare all human and are bound to meet both good and bad people. Bad people as\nterrorists bring suffering to humanity. We must support each other against such\nills,” he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Other\nthan being human which explains the contribution to the fight against evil that\naffect humanity. We are Africans with same Identity, same culture, same\naspirations and same destiny irrespective of our nationalities,” he noted<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nadded that soldiers need to work together to promote the greater African\ninterest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nfurther stressed that Africans are in dire need of social economic\ntransformation that can only be achieved in a peaceful environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We\nare bound by one Identity in a troubled territory called Africa whose existence\nwe must fight for so that we can continue to exist,” he said <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nUPDF recently deployed its twenty sixth battle group to Somalia and the third military\ntraining and mentoring team to Equatorial Guinea. UPDF also deployed as United\nNations guard unit in Somalia<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
