President Yoweri Museveni has this afternoon\ncommissioned the first of the 68,000 modules of a pilot solar park in\nKabulasoke in the Central Region\u2019s District of Gomba, with a call on wananchi\nto take advantage of such programmes to improve their household earnings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt the end of it all, you will go back to your\nhomes and find your problems waiting for you. It would be good if you think\nabout household income on top of these developments,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President pointed out that for a country to\nattract such investments, there must be some crucial elements in place and\ncited peace and social infrastructure, among others, adding that these have\nbeen top priority for the Government of the National Resistance Movement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Bible says that what you sow is what you\nreap. For investors to come to invest their money here, it shows that NRM has\nput something in place,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 20 MW Kabulasoke project is the first in a\nportfolio of five solar power projects of Xsabo Group in various parts of\nUganda for a total capacity of 150MW and a total investment volume of US$ 200 million\nthat is equivalent to Shs.747 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Museveni tasked all leaders to carry out household inspections with the aim of finding out what people do for income. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also asked coordinators in the National Agriculture and Advisory Services (NAADS) in the Kabulasoke area to avail him the list of farmers supplied with seedlings for easy monitoring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He asked the residents to use the newly tarmacked Maddu \u2013 Kabulasoke road to transport their produce on that route if they are to start benefitting from government development programmes. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Museveni saluted Dr. David Alabo who is Director of Xsabo Group for investing in Uganda. He also lauded Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi for leading the project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vice President Kiwanuka Ssekandi, on his part, said the project puts Uganda on a strategic level to participate in electricity distribution for all Ugandans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that Dr. Alobo’s innovative feat is a response to President Museveni’s call for patriotism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He, therefore, called on all Ugandans in the diaspora to emulate him for more projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. David Olobo thanked the President for coming to witness that achievement saying it is a herald for the beginning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the NRM government has continuously put in place the right policy and infrastructure framework that has ensured Uganda remains an attractive investment destination.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
