{"id":7437,"date":"2019-01-07T18:05:29","date_gmt":"2019-01-07T15:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=7437"},"modified":"2019-01-07T18:05:32","modified_gmt":"2019-01-07T15:05:32","slug":"general-court-martial-extends-kayihura-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2019\/01\/07\/general-court-martial-extends-kayihura-bail\/","title":{"rendered":"General Court Martial Extends Kayihura Bail"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nembattled former Police Chief Gen Kale Kayihura has on Monday 7th January 2019,\nappeared before the General court martial in fulfilment his bail terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gen\nKale Kayihura appeared before the same court last year and was charged with two\ncounts of failure to protect war materials in which it is alleged to have given\nguns to unauthorized people like jailed boss of Boda Boda 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nother count was aiding and abetting the kidnap and repatriation of Rwandan refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He\nwas granted bail on August 28th 2018 after spending many weeks in detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nbail was granted on medical grounds but his movements were restricted to\nKampala and Wakiso unless cleared by court and army top leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kayihura\nwas ordered to report to court every first Monday of the month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On\nMonday 7th January 2018, the Chairman of the general court martial, Gen Andrew\nGutti extended Kayihura&#8217;s bail to 4<sup>th<\/sup> February 2019 as the case is\nnot yet ready for trial because&nbsp;\nprobe&nbsp; is still on going.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The embattled former Police Chief Gen Kale Kayihura has on Monday 7th January 2019, appeared before the General court martial in fulfilment his bail terms.
