{"id":7426,"date":"2019-01-07T16:55:19","date_gmt":"2019-01-07T13:55:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=7426"},"modified":"2019-01-07T17:01:21","modified_gmt":"2019-01-07T14:01:21","slug":"strange-disease-hits-kabowa-residents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2019\/01\/07\/strange-disease-hits-kabowa-residents\/","title":{"rendered":"Strange Disease Hits Kabowa Residents"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents\nof Kironde Zone in Kabowa parish are in panic following suspected cholera\noutbreak in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John\nSuuna is one of the survivors of the mysterious disease that many suspect to be\nCholera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking\nto some of the residents on Sunday 6<sup>th<\/sup> January 2019, they explained\nthat some few days back some residents started vomiting, having running stomachs\nand experiencing abdominal pain before anything was done, one life was lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According\nto the residents, the poor hygienic conditions and flooding of Nalukolongo drainage\nchannel are responsible for the outbreak of this unknown disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Symptoms\nof the disease are similar to those of cholera like diarrhoea, vomiting and without\ntreatment, patients die after few days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\nMinistry of health has confirmed that they are aware of the disease and they\nhave collected blood samples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They\nare using the samples to investigate what exactly it might be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FB_IMG_15467925530421534.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FB_IMG_15467925530421534.jpg 720w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FB_IMG_15467925530421534-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FB_IMG_15467925530421534-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FB_IMG_15467925530421534-420x420.jpg 420w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FB_IMG_15467925530421534-640x640.jpg 640w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/FB_IMG_15467925530421534-681x681.jpg 681w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It&#8217;s\nreally premature to something which is scientific to conclude that it&#8217;s a\ncholera outbreak. Let our medical experts at the Central public health\nlaboratory do their role then we shall get back to the public and inform them\nwhat we found out after investigation,&#8221; Emmanuel Ainebyoona, Senior Public\nRelations Officer at Ministry of Health explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However,\nthe latrines coverage in the area is still poor and the few are in terrible condition.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Juma\nLubega, the councillor Kabowa 1 parish says a woman called Gladys Nampijja\nsuccumbed to the illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShe\ncomplained of vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and later in the morning the\nwoman was found dead.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Residents of Kironde Zone in Kabowa parish are in panic following suspected cholera outbreak in the area.
