During the festive, season people who work and reside in Kampala travel to their villages to enjoy and celebrate Christmas with their relatives and as such, most of the bus and taxi operators use this opportunity to hike transport fares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s less than a week to Christmas which is due to take place next week on Tuesday but transport fares have continued to shoot up almost every day on major routes from Kampala to different parts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0Mayanja Goloobe, General Manager of Navel Bus Company said that one of the reasons causing increase in transport fares is increase in fuel prices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“They have increased the price for fuel and when we take the passengers we come back when the bus is empty,\u201d he said<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.Kampala-Rukungiri from 40,000 to 45,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2.Kampala-Kabale\nfrom 35,000 to 40,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3.Kampala-\nKisoro 40,000 to 45,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4.Kampala-Kasese from 30,000 to 40,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5.\nKampala-Fort Portal from 30,000 to 35000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6.\nKampala-Budibugyo from 30,000 to 40,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7\nKampala-Mbarara from 25,000 to 30,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8.\nKampala to Mbale from 20,000 to 25,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9.\nKampala-Soroti from 25,000 to 30,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
10\nKampala-Gulu from 30,000 to 35,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
11\nKampala-Arua from 45,000 to 50,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.Kampala-Juba from 80,000 to 100,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Jonson Ssekandi, General Manager Namayuba bus terminal said that there are many people traveling and yet bus are few and they return empty that’s why there is an increase<\/p>\n\n\n\n
